I mean…

eternal sunshine of the spotless mind is kind of deliberately and consciously a movie about manic pixie dream girls and how fucked up that is (see also: kirsten dunst’s character, who is simultaneously trying to be that for the doctor guy AND flipping it around on the doctor guy himself, refusing to see him outside of being this perfect brilliant guy who will fill her life with his greatness; in fact every relationship in this movie is about mpdgs and seeing somebody as a construct instead of a human being and how badly that is likely to end for everyone involved)

so if you watch that movie (which does its best to slap you in the face with clementine’s complexity and imperfection) and come away thinking “omg clementine is such a manic pixie dreamgirl!” you are just as bad as elijah wood and you might as well just go steal her panties now
