CREATED BY SHWOOD EYEWEAR AND JULIAN BIALOWAS, “THIS IS OREGON” IS A COLLABORATIVE ENDEAVOR TO INSPIRE OTHERS TO GET UP, GO OUT, AND START EXPLORING. ThisisOR.com
No matter where you live, adventure is much closer than you think. New experiences, unknown surroundings, and exciting opportunities are just waiting to be discovered. Sometimes all it takes is a bit of motivation and knowing where to start.
We’ve traveled to ten locations within a 90-minute drive from downtown Portland, Oregon to showcase the awe-inspiring landscapes that are waiting to be explored. From highway pull-offs to backcountry overnighters, and sun-baked coastlines to snowy mountainsides, there is something for everyone, everywhere.
At each location we captured a featured photograph and paired it with an interactive 360 degree panorama and Google map to help you find your way. Hopefully these destinations will light the fire for you to look beyond and explore the endless beauty waiting outside your door.
so these dudes say some doofy stuff (“we want people to know that you can have less, and do more, and be more”, says the guy wearing the hundreds and hundreds of dollars worth of outdoorsy gear that are sort of required to be able to do a whole lot more in the outdoors)
but the footage is so amazing and I think someday when I don’t have to save my money for food and next month’s bills, I am going to save my money for outdoorsy gear so I can really spend time being all amazed by the wilderness and stuff. I like the idea of getting ~into hiking~ and all that

Our road trip to Bend, 2005
(Are you sensing a theme here?)
bend is my most favorite place
I always forget that technically I co-run fuckyesoregon (with my dreamy pal brijam who I’ve known since we were wee highschoolers wearing chucks and short-sleeve button-up shirts [respectively] and who totally only got a tumblr after he mercilessly teased me about mine, and then secretly followed me for a month before admitting to it)
so today I decided to pull my own weight and add some stuff to the queue that I thought looked neat
