She was telling me about their annual fundraiser in October, and how this year it is going to be a burlesque performance

And then, the one major issue I have had with this organization was that in their mission statement, they say they are particularly interested in raising up the voices of underprivileged women, and they list like, women of color, lesbian and bi women, etc etc, and while I was asking questions I added, “I noticed that trans* women are not listed on your mission statement? Is that something you are working on here?”

and she was immediately like, “That is actually a major priority for the next year, it’s really important to me,” and explained how they were founded in the seventies and the verrry Second Wave founders only just retired this last year and handed the reigns down to younger feminists, and it has just never been on the radar for them as a priority because: Second Wave. And she was like, “If you ever have any thoughts or ideas on how we can begin to reach out to trans* women and work on our inclusivity, we are all ears,” and it was great.

So, yeah. I just really like them and it seems like she liked me and she said she’d get back to me “by the end of the week for sure” so: dfkgjoitrjhgsdl;fjgldfgjsldfkgjdrgijtldhk I want this so bad y’all
